Free Evening Promenade
On December 11, immediately following MedLIFE-25's closure, we recommend that you enjoy a complimentary evening promenade in Naples.
Embrace the beloved Italian tradition of passeggiata in Naples, a leisurely evening walk that takes place all over the country. From small villages to big cities, Italians take to the streets to socialize and stroll after work. It’s the best time of day to experience local life and enjoy an Aperitivo as the sun sets over Naples. This walking route begins at the heart of the historic city center Piazza del Plebiscito, and takes you along the Lungomare promenade. Start with a coffee at Gran Caffè Gambrinus and admire the beautiful buildings around this main square.
On a mild December evening, stroll along the waterfront and through the Villa Communale Park. From the end near Piazza della Vittoria, you’ll find many paths to explore and beautiful fountains to enjoy as you wander around. The road running parallel to the shore is Via Caracciolo, perfect for a romantic walk with Mount Vesuvius and Castel dell’Ovo in the distance. You’ll pass lively bars where you can join locals for an Aperitivo and restaurants to enjoy dinner. You can easily spend most of your evening here once you’ve found a comfortable spot on an open-air terrace.
Suggested Points of Interest:
- Near the Piazza del Plebiscito is Galleria Umberto I, a grand and elegant shopping mall similar to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. Inside, there are many designer shops and cafes to explore. We recommend getting a typical pastry at Sfogliatella Mary.
- Take a walk around the impressive medieval fortress Castel Nuovo by the Napoli Port.
- Head to Piazza Bellini for Aperitivo time.
Where to Dine:
- Mimi alla Ferrovia: This restaurant serves the best seafood and is preferred by many celebrities, including Luciano Pavarotti.
- Via dei Tribunali: This street is known for the best pizza in Naples, with numerous restaurants lining the walkway.
